Due to monopolise of the market and manuplate the consumers, the loosers were the large consumer crowds.
The government should set up a control panel to be fair and a win win strategy as using of IT phones and related instruments has been a necessary and basic needs of people.
The company has earned hugh profits from the wide range of products and should be able to absorb the 6% so called service charged and not by further add-on burden to consumers at large.

As someone who has worked in the telecommunications company, I can say that the perception of general consumeres that Maxis, Digi and Celcom is earning big time is wrong.

1. While the no. of subscribers is increasing, the average revenue per user (ARPU) is decreasing due to competition.

2. The M'sian market was saturated 5 years, though the emergence of smartphones prolonged the effect of saturated market a little longer.

3. While we may not have the cheapest networks, we have (believe it or not) one of the most advance telecommunication networks in the world. And the equipments for advance telecommunication is not cheap.

4. yet, as usual, we malaysians like to complain a lot, thinking that our network sucks - prompting/forcing the operators to invest even more in equipments.

So, no... telcos are not earning big time...

BUT.....!!!

All the telcos collaborating on the pre-paid tax issue was definitely an act of monopoly, and a no-no! I'm very surprised companies like Maxis and Digi agreed to it.
